Summer Wellness Appearances

GCSU is gearing up for the annual summer orientations. We are super excited to have our newest batch of students and their parents joining us this Friday, June 18!  We’ll see the rest of you either June 25, July 16, or July 23!

To find out more information about health and wellness opportunities at GCSU, please visit our table at the Bobcat Marketplace. We’ll be on front campus from 12:00 p.m. to 2 p.m.  Our Assistant Directors, Amy Whatley and Laura Childs, will be glad to answer any questions you (students or parents) may have.  If we don’t get a chance to speak with you at the Marketplace, hopefully, the Wellness Depot is on your list of places to stop before heading back home.

For the first time ever, GCSU Wellness Programs will be participating in the Week of Welcome craziness.  Week of Welcome activities begin August 12 and continue through August 17.  You definitely want to stop by the Wellness Depot Thursday, August 12.  Party on the Porch from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.  Not only will you need a break from moving in, but also, this will be our first official sign-up day for the Fitness 1st: Avoiding the Freshmen 15 program.  The first 50 applicants will have their name placed in a drawing to win a superb prize!  The 16 selected to participate will receive their very own fit-kit.  We’ll have snow-cones and other refreshments as well.

In addition, be on the lookout for us on Facebook, in our campus newspaper (The Colonnade), on our campus radio station (WGUR, The Edge), and campus T.V. channel (MBC TV 4).
